Composition
1 g of feed mixture contains:
- calcium carbonate — 520 mg;
- sodium butyrate — 400 mg;
- cinnamaldehyde — 40 mg;
- sunflower seed oil — 30 mg;
- thymol — 10 mg.

Pharmacological properties
The feed mixture BUTYVIL 400 has the combined pharmacological properties of its individual components.
Sodium butyrate is a salt of butyric acid that has an anti‑inflammatory effect, selectively acting on macrophages and reducing the spread of inflammatory cytokines. Sodium butyrate has systemic (resorptive), antiseptic and phagocytosis‑enhancing effects. Sodium butyrate reduces the growth and invasion of pathogenic bacteria and decreases the expression of genes responsible for infection and adhesion of E. coli, Clostridium, Campylobacter and Salmonella.
Sodium butyrate promotes the growth of animals and poultry and improves nutrient utilisation efficiency. It is a source of energy for the epithelial cells of the intestinal mucosa, which leads to rapid restoration of damaged tissues and promotes an increase in the length of intestinal villi, increasing their absorptive surface area, thereby improving intracellular digestion and nutrient absorption. In addition, nutrient digestibility is improved because butyric acid increases the secretion of digestive enzymes.
Sodium butyrate is rapidly neutralised in the stomach. Therefore, in the feed mixture BUTYVIL 400, sodium butyrate is encapsulated in a fat matrix, which gradually releases butyrate under the action of lipases and reduces the negative effect on the intestinal wall as the butyrate moves along the entire digestive tract.
Thymol and cinnamaldehyde effectively inhibit pathogenic bacteria — Salmonella, E. coli and clostridia (Clostridium perfringens) — by penetrating the cell and destroying its genetic material. They also help improve digestion and feed utilisation in sows, fattening piglets and broilers by stimulating the production of pancreatic juice, bile and digestive enzymes.
Thymol is a natural essential oil with antioxidant properties. It inhibits the growth of mould fungi that produce mycotoxins dangerous to animals. Thymol has antispasmodic, immunostimulating, anthelmintic and antimicrobial effects. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeasts. Thymol is rapidly absorbed and metabolised in the digestive tract and affects detoxification of the body by conjugation of the hydroxyl group with sulphates and glucuronic acid.
Cinnamaldehyde is the main component of cinnamon essential oil (up to 90%), which determines its odour. Cinnamaldehyde is used as a fungicide. It has low toxicity.
Sodium butyrate in combination with essential oils exerts a synergistic effect, mutually enhancing their action against various microbial infections.
Thanks to the combination of these substances, the feed mixture BUTYVIL 400 helps reduce feed conversion ratio, improve feed digestibility, decrease the number of pathogenic bacteria and increase the number of beneficial bacteria, supports animal health and stress resistance, and also acts as an antioxidant.
Indications
Used to improve zootechnical performance (live weight gain in animals and poultry, increased egg production, increased egg weight, improved eggshell strength), normalise metabolism in the body, increase nutrient utilisation, and positively affect the development of intestinal microflora.

Precautions
When handling the feed mixture, generally accepted sanitary and hygienic standards and rules applicable in production settings must be observed. Use only as intended.
Unused residues of the feed mixture, or product that has passed its expiry date, must be disposed of by incineration in a special furnace.

Storage
Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature from 5 to 25°C.
