Description
White to grayish-brown powder.
Composition
1 g of the product contains the active substance:
- azamethiphos – 100,0 mg.
Excipients: silicon dioxide, kaolin, sucrose, sorbitol.
Pharmacological properties
ATC-vet classification code QP53 - ectoparasiticides, including insecticides and repellents. QP53GX, various repellents.
The product TOP-INSECT VS acts as a contact insecticide that depresses the nervous system of insects. Azamethiphos inhibits acetylcholinesterase activity, leading to acetylcholine accumulation in the synapses, which causes prolonged excitation, paralysis, and subsequent death of the insects.
Azamethiphos belongs to the group of organophosphorus insecticides. It is effective against zoophilic flies (Musca domestica, Fannia canicularis) present in animal housing and livestock facilities. Azamethiphos does not affect fly eggs or larvae. The onset of action occurs 3-5 minutes after insect contact with the product.
The product is characterized by high photostability and moisture resistance (it does not degrade under the influence of light or water). This ensures prolonged residual activity of the active substance (up to 6–8 weeks).
The product is toxic to aquatic organisms and bees.
Indications for use
Insect control in all types of livestock and agricultural premises, particularly rabbit farms, poultry units, livestock facilities, sheep farms, pig units, etc., as well as in auxiliary premises, waste areas, landfills, and compost pits.
Dosage and Administration
The product is applied by spreading as a prepared paste or by spraying an aqueous solution of the product using a low-pressure sprayer.
Application as a paste:
Mix 500 g of the product in 500 ml of warm water until a mixture of paste-like consistency is obtained, which can be applied with a paintbrush.
This amount of the mixture is sufficient for spot application in a room with a total floor area of 5-10 m². Where the surface is not easily accessible or its discoloration is undesirable, the mixture can be applied to cardboard or thin wooden plates and hung in a place inaccessible to animals.
This mixture is sufficient for approximately 30 spot applications measuring 10x30 cm in places where insects gather or frequently stay (window frames, pipes, sunny surfaces, etc.). The efficacy of the product is maintained for up to 6–8 weeks.
Spraying:
For application by spraying, dissolve 125 g of the product in 5 liters of water and apply using a sprayer. Spray on surfaces at a rate of 5 L per 100 m².
In case of severe fly infestation, dissolve 250 g of the product in 2 liters of water.
The working solution of the product must be used immediately after its preparation or within one day. Before use, the solution should be thoroughly mixed. If the treatment process is interrupted for more than 30 minutes, the solution must be remixed.
The efficacy of the product is maintained for up to 4–6 weeks.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For effective treatment of premises as a paste, apply the paste to 5–10% of the floor area (e.g., in a room with an area of 20 m², apply the paste to 1–2 m² of surfaces where flies congregate).
For treatment by the spraying method, treat 10% to 30% of the floor area (e.g., for a room of 20 m², treat not less than 2 m² and up to 6 m² of surfaces).
The treatment of TOP-INSECT VS is considered effective upon a 70% reduction in the fly population.
To maintain optimal efficacy, lightly moisten the treated surfaces with water at regular intervals.
Apply the product preferably to areas protected from direct sunlight to slow down drying and enhance its efficacy.
Use purified or dechlorinated (standing) water to dissolve the product.
When spraying, periodically agitate the mixture to ensure uniform efficacy of the product across all treated areas.
A 50 g container is sufficient to treat: by paste application — a room up to 20 m²; by spraying — a room up to 40 m².
Contraindications
Do not apply the product by spraying in the presence of animals and poultry.
Do not treat animals and poultry directly.
Do not use in areas where there is a risk of contaminating food, feed, or water with the product.
Do not allow animals access to treated surfaces or the product itself.
Special warnings
Special precautions for use
Animals must be removed from the premises during treatment. Animals may be re-introduced after the sprayed surfaces have dried. Do not treat equipment used for feeding animals (feeders, troughs, drinkers, etc.), or surfaces that animal may lick. In pig units, apply to surfaces above 1.5 m in height, and in cattle housing – above 2 m.m.
Special precautions for personnel
When handling the product, general rules of personal hygiene and rules for working with veterinary medicinal products must be observed. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the product TOP-INSECT VS should avoid direct contact with the powder.
Disinsection is carried out using respiratory, skin, and eye protection measures (protective clothing, universal respirator, safety goggles, rubber gloves).
Eating, drinking, and smoking are prohibited during disinsection work.
In case of inhalation: move to fresh air. In case of skin contact: wash with plenty of soap and water; if redness or irritation occurs, seek medical advice. In case of eye contact: immediately flush with plenty of water for 10 minutes and seek medical advice.
