DESCRIPTION

Transparent oily liquid from colorless to light – yellow color.

COMPOSITION

1 ml contains the active ingredient:
ofloxacin – 100.0 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The active ingredient of the preparation is an antibiotic ofloxacin, an antibiotic from the  fluoroquinolone group.

Ofloxacin is active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, especially against E. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Serratia spp., Camphylobacter spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Yersinia spp., Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp., Haemophilus spp., to the preparation are also sensitive: Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillinase-producing and methicillin-resistant strains), Mycoplasma spp., Mycobacterium spp.

Mechanism of this preparation action is the inhibition of bacterial DNA – gyrase (topoisomerase II), thus stopping the process of spiralization and DNA synthesis.

INDICATIONS

Treatment of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs and cats that suffers from respiratory diseases, digestive tract, reproductive system, caused by pathogens sensitive to ofloxacin.

DOSAGE

Intramuscularly at a dose of:

- Cattle - 0.5-1 ml per 10 kg of body weight;

- Pigs - 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight;

- Sheep, goats - 0.5-1 ml per 10 kg of body weight;

- Dogs, cats - 0.25 ml per 10 kg of body weight.

Apply the medication at intervals of 24 hours, for 3 - 5 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to ofloxacin.
Do not administer to animals with impaired renal and liver functions.
Do not use simultaneously with tetracyclines, macrolides, lincosamides, chloramphenicol, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations.
Do not used to treat horses.
Do not use for dogs of small breeds up to 8 months old, large dog breeds less than 18 months of age, cats – up to 8 months of age, due to the negative effect on the formation of cartilage and bone tissues.
Do not treat animals with clinical signs of diseases of the central nervous system.
The medication is not recommended for pregnant bitches and sows.

PRECAUTIONS

When administrated intramuscularly in a dose that exceeds 10 ml – it is recommended to inject in several different sites.
At the injection site, particularly in small animals, there is possibility of swelling, pain reaction, abscess, fur loss, thickening of the skin. If such symptoms are arises, discontinue the use of the medication and desensitizing therapy should be prescribed.
If there is swelling and painful reaction after the injection it is recommended to use the preparation orally in the same doses as for intramuscular injection, since the bioavailability of ofloxacin reaches 100%.
Animals may only be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 14 days after the last treatment.
The milk can be used for human consumption after 4 days from the last treatment.

HOW SUPPLIED

Neutral glass vials of 10-mL, 20-mL, 50-mL and 100-mL, closed by a rubber stopper and sealed with an aluminum cover. Secondary package: carton box.

STORAGE

Dry, dark, inaccessible to children place at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.
Shelf life – 2 years.
