AMPROLINVET (oral solution)
Ingredients: Amprolium Hcl
Application: Oral
Type of formulation: Coccidiostatic

Description

Oily liquid ranging in colour from light yellow to dark yellow.

Composition

1 ml of the product contains the active substance:
- amprolium hydrochloride – 125.0 mg.
Excipients: purified water, glycerol, propylene glycol.

Pharmacological properties

ATCvet QP51, antiprotozoal veterinary medicinal products (QP51AX09, amprolium).

The active substance of the product, amprolium hydrochloride, possesses a broad spectrum of anticoccidial activity and is effective against Eimeria species in chickens: Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. praecox, E. maxima, E. brunetti, E. mitis; in turkeys – E. adenoides, E. gallopavonis, E. meleagrimitis.

Amprolium penetrates into Eimeria more efficiently than thiamine and disrupts the active binding sites of the vitamin, which causes a disorder of carbohydrate metabolism and leads to death of the parasites.

Amprolium hydrochloride mainly suppresses the development of Eimeria at the stage of first and second generation schizogony. The active substance does not penetrate through cellular membranes of the intestinal mucosa of poultry; therefore, the product is practically non-toxic at therapeutic doses. The major portion of amprolium (up to 97%) is excreted from the body unchanged. The product does not suppress the formation of anticoccidial immunity and is compatible with vitamins and feed additives used in animal husbandry and poultry farming.
