Tablets.

Ingredients 

1 tablet (1000 mg) of probiotic feed supplement contains:

- Clostridium butyricum, NLT 10х104 CFU;

- Bacillus licheniformis, NLT 10х105 CFU;

- Bacillus subtilis, NLT 10х105 CFU.

Total bacteria count:

- Bacillus 10×1010 CFU/g

- Clostridium 10х104 CFU/g

Excipients: nipagin, nipazole, albumin (egg white), flavouring agents, flavour enhancer, whey powder, talc, calcium stearate, polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30, glucose, milk powder, potato starch, lactose.

Pharmacological properties 

ACTIVIL TABS belongs to the IV generation of probiotics and contains spores of live Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus subtilis, Clostridium butyricum. ACTIVIL TABS is resistant to external factors: aggressive environments of the gastrointestinal tract and some antibiotics due to the use of spore-forming microorganisms.

Bacillus subtilis is a spore-forming bacterium that inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria by competitively displacing them without causing resistance. In the intestine, it produces lysozyme and peptides with antibiotic properties, as well as a large number of enzymes that significantly improve digestive processes in animals.

Bacillus licheniformis is a spore-forming bacterium that synthesises vitamins in the digestive tract, such as vitamin K, riboflavin, and folic acid. It helps to maintain acid-base balance in the large intestine, produces lactic acid, which stimulates the growth of lactobacilli and inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, and promotes nutrient absorption. 

Clostridium butyricum is a spore-forming bacterium that synthesises N-butyric acid, which is a source of energy to accelerate enterocyte division and restore intestinal epithelial integrity. N-butyric acid has antimicrobial effects on gram-negative bacteria, in particular on Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp., Clostridium perfringens. 

The symbiosis of these bacteria improves the state of the intestinal microflora, reduces the risk of bacterial diseases due to the natural displacement of opportunistic bacteria, stimulating the growth of lactic acid bacteria. The high enzymatic activity of these bacteria supports digestion processes, improves feed digestion and nutrient absorption. Due to stimulation of phagocytic activity of monocytes and neutrophils, enhancement of functional activity of macrophages, induction of endogenous interferon and increase in the content of gamma-globulin fraction of blood, nonspecific resistance of the organism is enhanced.

Indications

Balancing and improvement of gastrointestinal microbiocenosis in cats and dogs after antibiotic therapy, in case of disorders of the functional state of the digestive tract in animals. The supplement is used as an adjuvant for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal infections of bacterial and viral etiology, normalisation of intestinal microflora in case of dysbiosis of various origins, to improve feed digestion, to increase the body's natural resistance and the level of immunity during and after vaccinations.

Contraindications

Do not administer in combination with drugs with disinfectant properties.

Do not use in case of animal allergy to dairy products and egg white.

Interaction with other drugs or other forms of interaction

Probiotic bacteria Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis, which are part of the feed supplement, are insensitive to such antibiotics as colistin sulfate, gentamicin, amoxicillin, neomycin, streptomycin.

When the supplement is used in combination with antibiotics of the gram-positive spectrum of action, a partial decrease in the efficiency of the supplement may be observed. 

Combination with coccidiostatics is possible.

Doses and methods of administration to animals of different age

For prophylactic purposes, the tablets are administered orally to animals 2-3 times a day during the main feeding, separately or mixed with feed in crushed form, or by force on the root of the tongue in the following doses:

- large dogs (35 kg and over) — 2 tablets;

- medium-sized dogs (10-35 kg) — 1-2 tablets;

- small dogs and cats (up to 10 kg) — ½-1 tablet;

- kittens and puppies — 1/4- 1/2 tablet.

After completion of the antibiotic therapy, the probiotic feed supplement should be continued for at least 14 days.

If necessary, and on the recommendation of a veterinarian, the dose and duration of administration may be increased.

Overdose (symptoms, emergency measures, antidotes)

No overdoses have been reported in the recommended doses.
