ASA-70 (powder for oral solution)

White to grey or greyish powder.

1 g of the preparation contains the active substance (mg):

- acetylsalicylic acid – 700,0.

Excipients: citric acid, sodium dodecyl sulfate (lauryl sulfate), sodium citrate, sodium carbonate.

Acetylsalicylic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the salicylates group that has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects, prevents thrombus formation, promotes rapid recovery of young animals and reduces productivity losses.

The main mechanism of action of acetylsalicylic acid is its inactivation of the COX (cyclooxygenase) enzyme, which reduces the production of inflammation mediators: prostaglandins, prostacyclin and thromboxane. Slowing the synthesis of prostaglandins leads to a decrease in elevated body temperature and a reduction in the sensitivity of nerve endings to pain mediators. Irreversible inhibition of thromboxane A2 synthesis in platelets by acetylsalicylic acid prevents spontaneous and induced platelet aggregation.

After oral administration of the preparation, acetylsalicylic acid is rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is rapidly metabolized to salicylic acid, with a half-life of 15-30 minutes. Salicylic acid is metabolized in the liver. Its metabolites are glycine, glucuronic acid conjugates and traces of gentisic acid. Salicylic acid and its metabolites are mainly excreted by the kidneys.

Symptomatic treatment of calves (up to 3 months of age), pigs and poultry (broiler chickens, turkeys, breeding chickens, rearing young stock) in pathological conditions accompanied by hyperthermia, inflammatory and pain syndromes of mild to moderate intensity, namely: fever, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, MMA syndrome (metritis-mastitis-agalactia), rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, muscle and postoperative pain, heat stress.

The preparation is administered orally with drinking water or liquid feed in the following doses:

- calves – 1,0 g of the preparation per 7 kg body weight (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per 1 kg body weight);

- pigs – 1,5 kg of the preparation per 1000 l of drinking water (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per 1 kg body weight);

- poultry (broiler chickens, turkeys, breeding chickens, rearing young stock) - 300-600 g of the preparation per 1000 l of drinking water (equivalent to 210-420 mg acetylsalicylic acid per 1 l of drinking water, or 50-100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per 1 kg body weight).

The preparation is administered once daily for 3 to 5 consecutive days.

The required amount of the preparation is pre-dissolved in drinking water (water temperature 35 °C) at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part preparation to 10 parts water), vigorously stirred for 20-25 minutes, during which the solution producing significant foaming. After 20-25 minutes, the resulting solution is added to the daily amount of drinking water or liquid feed.

Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to salicylates or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Do not use in animals with chronic gastrointestinal and kidney diseases, blood clotting disorders.

Do not use simultaneously with anticoagulants and 2 weeks before planned surgery.

Do not use in laying hens whose eggs are intended for human consumption.

Do not use in piglets up to 1 month of age.

Do not use in newborn calves and calves up to 2 weeks of age.

Do not use in pregnant and lactating sows.

Do not use together with other NSAIDs, glucocorticosteroids and aminoglycosides.

Possible occurrence of itching, stomach and intestinal irritation, ulcers, gastrointestinal disorders, muscle tremor, which requires discontinuation of the treatment.

Do not use 2 weeks before planned surgery.

Treatment with ASA-70 preparation is carried out in combination with etiotropic therapy.

Do not use in pregnant and lactating sows.

Do not use in laying hens whose eggs are intended for human consumption.

When using the preparation, it is necessary to assess the benefit/risk ratio for each case if doubts arise.

Do not use simultaneously with anticoagulants and 2 weeks before planned surgery.

Do not use together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucocorticosteroids and aminoglycosides.

It is not recommended to use together with diuretics, as the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) decreases due to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the kidneys.

Meat of target animal species - 0 days.

Powder in polymer bags, polymer containers or jars with a volume of 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 g, and 1, 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg.

Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature between 5 and 30 °C.

Shelf life of the preparation - 24 months from the date of manufacture.

Shelf life after first opening of the container: 28 days, provided that storage conditions are complied with and the container is tightly closed.
