- propylene glycol – 50 mg;
- lactic acid – 33,5 mg;
- glycerol – 25 mg;
- succinic acid – 5,0 mg;
- propionic acid – 1,5 mg;
- purified water – 95,0 mg.
Properties
BACCINOL feed mixture is a balanced combination of synergistically acting organic acids that has both acidifying and preservative properties in feed and drinking water. It promotes the stabilisation of the gastrointestinal microflora in animals and poultry, inhibits the growth and development of bacteria of the genera Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Pseudomonas, etc., as well as yeasts fungi in feed, water and in the gastrointestinal tract of animals and poultry. It preserves the nutritional properties of feed and extends its shelf life. Lowering the pH promotes protein assimilation and enzyme activation and improves digestion. It creates favourable conditions for the growth of beneficial microflora. It lowers the pH of drinking water, cleans the water supply system from biofilm and prevents its formation.
BACCINOL reduces the level of contamination of water with pathogenic microorganisms, inhibits their development in the intestine, helps to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal disorders in poultry and pigs, and has an antifungal effect due to propionic acid and lactic acid. By lowering the pH value of the intestinal contents, the feed mixture creates optimal conditions for the development of propionic acid and lactic acid bacteria and inhibits the multiplication of pathogenic microflora.
Formic acid lowers the pH level and the buffering capacity of feed, thereby inhibiting the growth and development of pathogenic bacteria: E. coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Pseudomonas, etc., and also improves the assimilation of calcium and phosphorus. Among carboxylic acids, formic acid has the most pronounced antibacterial effect.
Propionic acid has a strong antifungal effect. It is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and transported to the liver, where propionate is completely converted into glucose. In combination with formic acid, these acids have a synergistic effect and are used against certain Gram-positive pathogens (Clostridium).
Lactic acid actively stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes. At the same time, it creates favourable conditions for the development of Lactobacillus bacteria, which prevent the growth and development of pathogenic microorganisms in the small intestine of animals. Lactic acid stimulates the restoration of intestinal villi, which increases the surface area for nutrient absorption. Lactic acid helps to reduce the adverse effects of the mycotoxin aflatoxin (produced by fungi Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus) and improves feed palatability.
Citric acid is an effective anti-stress component; it stimulates the formation of chelated forms of calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and other trace elements in the intestine, as a result of which they are better absorbed by the body. Citric acid neutralises radionuclides and pesticides and is a universal antioxidant that prevents fat oxidation and feed spoilage.
Succinic acid increases feed digestibility, enhances biosynthesis processes, is a universal anti-stress substance, is not xenobiotic to the organism, improves cellular respiration and metabolism, including glucose metabolism, improves the function of the respiratory organs, kidneys and intestine, and supports endocrine system activity.
Organic acids reduce the buffering capacity of alkaline feed components, which stimulates the utilisation of nitrogen and macroelements from feed, enhance the secretion of stomach, pancreatic and intestinal enzymes and the conversion of nutrients, stimulate the growth of intestinal villi, which improves parietal digestion and increases nutrient absorption, prevent enteritis, and reduce the intensity of fermentation processes in the large intestine.
Directions for use
Protection of feed and drinking water from pathogenic microflora; preservation and acidification of feed, which helps prolong its storage life; acidification of the environment in the gastrointestinal tract of animals and poultry, which inhibits the growth of Gram-negative and putrefactive microorganisms in the digestive tract; improvement of feed digestion and nutrient absorption; upports growth and productivity in poultry and pigs.
It is recommended to use BACCINOL after the administration of antimicrobial products, especially for the prevention of colibacillosis, clostridiosis and other diseases.
Dosage and administration
BACCINOL is sprayed onto feed during mixing or administered with feed by stepwise mixing, or added to drinking water at the following rates:
- feed for pigs – 1–2 litres/1000 kg;
- feed for poultry – 1–3 litres/1000 kg;
- drinking water – 0,3–1 litre/1000 litres.
For cleaning the water supply system: add a 0,5% solution to the system and leave for 12 hours. After use, rinse with cold water.
For the prevention of salmonellosis, add the feed mixture to feed or water at the rate of 0,1–0,3% of the amount of feed.
The dose depends on the level of bacterial contamination, feed composition and drinking water quality.
The maximum efficacy of the feed mixture is achieved when the water pH reaches 4,2–4,6; the water pH level must be monitored.
Contraindications
None.
Precautions
When handling the feed mixture, generally accepted sanitary and hygienic standards and workplace rules must be observed. Use only as intended.
