SALINOPHOR-VS
is an anticoccidial product containing active ingredient of salinomycin sodium
and additive agents. Salinomycin sodium is a product of Streptomyces albus fungus fermentation.
Eimeriocydic
effect of the product is similar to that of other ionophoric antibiotics and is
related with its affinity with sodium and potassium ions and the potential of
the medicinal product to carry them over through cell membranes. The mode of
action lies in disturbance of sodium and potassium cations transfer in oocyst
leading to cessation of eimeria development at the schizogony stage.
Salinomycin
sodium is effective against majority of eimeria (Eimeria tenellla, E. acervulina, E. mivati, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E.
necatrix, E. meleagridis, E. meleagrimitis, E. bovis). In the digestive
tract of swines salinomycin sodium reduces the number of pathogenic microorganisms
- dysentery and clostridiosis pathogens (Treponema
hyodisenteria and Clostridium spp.).
Administered
perorally, salinomycin is very little absorbed in digestive tract and has its
effect over mucous and submucous membranes.
The product SALINOPHOR-VS is referred to moderately toxic substances (3rd safety class), is compatible with vitamins and feed additives used in poultry farming.
Indications
Treatment and preventive treatment of eimerioses in chicken (broilers, rearing stock) up to 12 weeks old, in horned cattle and sheep (calves, lambs with developed proventriculi), swines (young pigs up to 4 months old) caused by various kinds of eimeria.
Dosage
The product SALINOPHOR-VS is used mixed with feed in
doses:
chicken (broilers, rearing stock of chicken up to 12 weeks
old): 0,5 kg of the product per 1 tn of feed (equivalent to
60,0 g of salinomycin per 1tn of feed);
young horned cattle and sheep (from 3 months old): 0,085-0,25 kg of the product per 1 tn of feed (equivalent
to 10,0 -30,0 g of salinomycin per 1tn of feed);
young pigs (up to 4 months):
with a body weight up to 60 kg: 0,420 kg of the
product per 1 tn of feed (equivalent to 50,0 g of salinomycin per 1tn of feed);
with a body weight more than 61 kg: 0,210 kg of the
product per 1 tn of feed (equivalent to 25,0 g of salinomycin per 1tn of feed);
The product is to be thoroughly mixed with feed (the calculated volume of the product is to be first mixed with a small amount of feed and then added to the remaining feed).
Contradictions
Not to be used by laying hens!
Not to be used by calves and lambs with undeveloped
proventriculi!
Combined use of product SALINOPHOR-VS with tiamulin as
well as its use in 7 days before and after tiamulin application is not allowed!
Not to be used by horses and other perissodactyls!
Precaution
Poultry
slaughter for meat is allowed in 5 days after the most recent product
application. The meat obtained before the period hereinabove is to be recycled
or fed to non-productive animals on the basis of veterinary physician’s
opinion.
Calves, young pigs, lambs slaughter for meat is unrestricted.

and bags of 5, 10, 20 and 25 kg.
Polymer containers of 100, 500 g and 1 kg.
Storage
Dry, dark place at a temperature from 0 to 25 ° С out of reach of children.
