SORBECIDE (feed mixture)

Powder for oral administration.

1 g of feed mixture contains:

- bentonite – 550,0 mg;

- kaolin – 320,0 mg;

- calcium propionate – 80,0 mg;

- silicon dioxide – 25 mg;

- feed yeast – 25 mg.

Moisture content not more than 15,0%.

The feed mixture has pronounced sorption properties due to bentonite and kaolin.

The action of bentonite is aimed at adsorption of mycotoxins, free radicals and toxic anthropogenic toxic substances (pesticides, dioxins, ammonia, etc.). Bentonite contains calcium, sodium, sulphur, iron, copper, zinc and manganese.

Bentonite, as an active adsorbent, absorbs excess gases formed in the rumen during fermentation of forage and thus prevents tympany in animals. One of the most important properties of bentonite is its high buffering capacity and its ability to optimise the pH of rumen contents within neutral and slightly acidic values, which improves the development of cellulolytic microflora and fibre digestion, increases formation of acetic acid in the rumen, which is used for milk fat synthesis. In addition, bentonite, due to its content of trace elements, increases the intensity of rumen microflora development and improves digestibility of all nutrients in the ration.

Bentonite increases laying capacity; with reduced feed intake, eggshell quality is improved, egg mass is increased and faecal moisture is reduced, feathering of birds is improved.

Kaolin, in its turn, prevents feed from caking and clumping, and also prevents feed poisoning; it binds to the molecular structure of mycotoxins by an irreversible mechanism, which prevents the chemical reduction of toxins and their repeated action on the animal’s body.

Calcium propionate activates minerals and also prevents mould growth in finished feed. Calcium propionate retains toxins in an adsorbed form and prevents their release in subsequent parts of the digestive tract.

Yeast has sorption activity against aflatoxins, fumonisins and zearalenone. Due to the content of mannans and β-glucans this component helps stimulate immunity and enhances adsorption of mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone.

It is incorporated into the feed of animals and poultry in order to prevent their contamination with mycotoxins, as well as to prevent their recontamination during storage, transportation and processing. It ensures optimal feed quality and improves its assimilation by regulating the microflora of the digestive tract, which increases productivity of animals and poultry. It helps restore the barrier function of the liver.

The feed mixture is incorporated into feed by uniform mixing at the following doses:

- pigs, cattle and small ruminants including calves, kids and lambs; rabbits; poultry – turkeys, broilers, laying hens, quails, mallards, pheasants, partridges and their replacement young stock – 0.5 kg – 3 kg per 1 tonne of feed depending on contamination of feed with fungi and toxins.

Recommended prophylactic dose: 1 kg per 1 tonne of feed.

When working with the feed mixture, general sanitary and hygiene rules and regulations applicable in production must be observed. Use for its intended purpose only.

Unused feed mixture or feed mixture with an expired shelf life must be disposed of by incineration in a special furnace.

Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature from 5 to 25 °C and relative air humidity not more than 75%.
