Description
Suspension from white to yellowish color. Upon storage, the suspension is stratified.
Composition
1 ml of the preparation contains active substance:
toltrazuril - 50 mg.
Auxiliary substances: sodium propionate, sodium benzoate, docusate sodium, хanthan gum, propylene glycol, citric acid, simethicone emulsion, bentonite, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvet QP51, antiprotozal veterinary preparations (QP51AJ01, toltrazuril).
Active substance of the preparation toltrazuril (symmetrical triazinetrione) – effective eimeriostat.
Toltrazuril disturbs intracellular stages of eimeria development, affecting on schizonts, micro- and macrogametes. Disturbs the process of nuclear fission of eimeria and decreases activity of mitochondria responsible for respiratory metabolism.
After oral administration of the preparation, toltrazuril is slowly absorbed in alimentary tract of animals. in organism of animals toltrazuril is partially metabolized with forming of sulfoxide-and sulphon derivatives. Further – almost completely excreted with feces in unchanged form or in the form of toltrazurilsulphon or toltrazurilsulfoxide.
The preparation has no mutagenic, carcinogenic and teratogenic action.
Application
Prophylaxis and treatment of store pigs and cattle at eimeriosis caused by eimeria sensitive to toltrazuril:
in piglets: Isospora suis, Eimeria arloingi, E. scabra, E. guevarai;
in calves: Eimeria bovis, E. zuernii, E. alabamensis.
Dosing
The preparation is applied to piglets and store cattle under 9 months of age, orally individually once via special dosing device at a doses:
to piglets – on 3-5 day of life at a dose 0,4 ml of the preparation for 1 kg of body mass (equal to 20 mg of toltrazuril/1 kg of body mass), but at least 0,5 ml and not more than 2 ml for an animal;
to calves - from two weeks of age at a dose 3 ml of the preparation to 10 kg of body mass (equal to 15 mg of toltrazuril/1 kg of body mass).
To obtain maximum prophylactic effect and reducing of oocysts number which are released into the environment in unfavorable on eimeriosis farms, the preparation should be administrated to animals before clinical signs of disease arising – during incubation period.
Contra-indications
Increased sensation to toltrazuril!
To animals during pregnancy and lactation, the preparation is not applied!
To ruminant animal with developed ruminal digestion, the preparation is not applied!
