DESCRIPTION

Transparent oily liquid from colorless to light – yellow color.

COMPOSITION

Each1 ml contains the active ingredient:
Norfloxacin – 200.0 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Norfloxacin – an antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolones group.

Norfloxacin is active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, especially against E. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Serratia spp., Camphylobacter spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Yersinia spp., Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp., Haemophilus spp., are also sensitive to the drug: Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Staphylococcus spp. (Including penicillinase-producing and methicillin-resistant strains), Mycoplasma spp., Mycobacterium spp.

Mechanism of preparation action is inhibition of bacterial DNA – gyrase (topoisomerase II), thus stopping the process of spiralization and DNA synthesis.

INDICATIONS

Treatment of pigs, calves and lambs, poultry, dogs and cats suffering from septicemia, arthritis, polyarthritis, meningitis, mastitis, dermatitis, secondary infections in viral diseases and respiratory diseases (tonsillitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchopneumonia), gastrointestinal tract ( gastritis, enteritis, peritonitis), urogenital system (nephritis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, metritis, urocistitis) caused by pathogens susceptible to norfloxacin.

DOSAGE

Orally with drinking water or feed in a dose:

- Pigs - 1 ml per 1-3 liters of drinking water;

- Calves and lambs - 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight;

- Poultry - 1 ml per 1.5-4 liters of drinking water;

- Dogs, cats - 1 ml per  7-15 kg of animal body weight.

Use at intervals of 24 hours, the duration of treatment 3 - 5 days.

CONTRAINDICATION

Hypersensitivity to norfloxacin.
Do not used for animals with impaired renal function and liver.
Do not use simultaneously with tetracyclines, macrolides, lincosamides, chloramphenicol, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Do not use in ruminants with the well-developed rumen.
Do not used to treat horses.
Do not use for dogs of small breeds less than 8 month old, large dog breeds – less than 18 months of age, cats – less than 8 month old, since it might have a negative effect on the formation of cartilage and bone tissues.
The preparation not recommended for pregnant and lactating animals. The use of is only permitted when it is clear that the effect from the treatment prevails the negative consequences.
Do not use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

PRECAUTIONS

Animals may only be slaughtered for meat 14 days after the last treatment.
Poultry may only be slaughtered for meat 12 days after the last treatment.
In recommended doses, side effects are usually not observed. If side effects appear (itching, nausea, vomiting, muscle tremors) stop using the preparation, use desensitizing therapy.

HOW SUPPLIED

Neutral glass ampoules of 0.5 and 1 ml. Outer packaging – carton box.
Polymer flacons / containers of 240 ml. or 1 liter.

STORAGE

Dry, dark, inaccessible to children place at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.
Shelf life – 2 years.
