PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

ATC-vet classification code QA05 – Veterinary medicines used for liver and biliary tract pathology.

HEPAXIN is a hepatoprotective agent that combines the pharmacological properties of its components with a pronounced stimulating, protective, and choleretic effect on the liver, improving its functions and metabolism, thereby optimizing key physiological processes.

L-arginine stimulates cellular metabolism, aids in the detoxification and elimination of ammonia, regulates blood sugar levels, reduces lactic acidosis caused by muscle exertion, activates nitrogen-containing enzymes, and synthesizes the nitroso group, providing necessary arterial tone.

L-ornithine participates in the urea cycle (formation of urea from ammonia), reduces elevated ammonia levels in the body due to liver diseases, aids in insulin and growth hormone synthesis, and activates protein metabolism.

L-citrulline is an amino acid involved in the urea formation cycle, promoting the excretion of urea from the body.

Betaine is a natural source of methyl groups and a hepatoprotective agent that positively influences metabolism, improves intestinal epithelium condition, enhances energy absorption from the diet, increases stress resistance, has choleretic and lipotropic effects, activates metabolic methylation in the liver, and synthesizes phospholipids for cellular membranes.

Sorbitol is an energy substance that accumulates in the liver as glycogen, partially compensating for negative energy balance, and has a pronounced diuretic effect.

The use of the product increases endurance, improves heart function, reduces subcutaneous fat, increases muscle mass by accelerating metabolic processes in cells, enhances the penetration of vitamins, minerals, and waste products into cells. The product reduces the risk of fatty liver dystrophy, nephrosis, myocardosis, prevents stress (thermal, transport, etc.), improves appetite and feed absorption, enhances digestion and fat absorption, which is especially important during intensive growth periods in animals.

The product is quickly absorbed from the injection site, passes through the histohematological barrier, and is distributed throughout all organs and tissues. It is partially utilized in metabolic processes, with the rest excreted by the kidneys.

The product is considered low in toxicity and does not exhibit embryotoxic, teratogenic, carcinogenic, or sensitizing effects at therapeutic doses.

INDICATIONS

Used alone or as part of combination therapy for acute and chronic liver diseases of various etiologies, to normalize liver function and regenerate liver cells after endo- and exotoxicoses, somatic or infectious diseases, to reduce hepatotoxic effects of drugs, accelerate liver recovery during periods of intensive overload, normalize metabolism, increase overall resistance and productivity, prevent and treat stress periods, and accelerate growth during animal fattening.
