MANIBAZYN® (granules for oral administration)

Granules of yellowish to yellow-brown colour with a slight characteristic odour.

1 g of feed additive contains active substances:

- maduramicin (as maduramicin ammonium) — 10 mg,

- nicarbazin — 80 mg.

Excipients: mineral oil, corn starch up to 1 g.

Category of the feed additive: coccidiostats and histomonostats.

Functional group: coccidiostats.

MANIBAZYN® is a combined feed additive containing maduramicin and nicarbazin. The combination of active substances provides effective anticoccidial activity.

Maduramicin is a broad-spectrum eimeriostatic agent effective against Eimeria tenella, E.acervulina, E.necatrix, E.maxima, E.mivati, E. brunetti etc. Maduramicin belongs to the group of polyether monocarboxylic ionophore antibiotics produced by the strain Actinomadura yumanensis.

The mechanism of action of maduramicin is based on the selective enhancement of transport of monovalent cations (sodium and potassium ions) through the cell membrane of Eimeria, which leads to disruption of cellular turgor, swelling of the cytoplasm, and subsequent death of Eimeria due to destruction of the cell membrane. Maduramicin ammonium is practically not absorbed in the digestive tract, exerting its action on the mucous and submucous membranes. It is excreted from the body of birds unchanged, mainly with feces, within 2–3 days.

Nicarbazin is a synthetic anticoccidial agent, which is a complex of 4,4'-dinitrocarbanilide (DNC) and 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine (HDP), which inhibits energy metabolism in the parasite organism.

Maduramicin and nicarbazin have a broad spectrum of anticoccidial activity against Eimeria of poultry (Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. brunettі). Nicarbazin is a synthetic complex of 4,4’-dinitrocarbanilide (DNC) and 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine (HDP). Dinitrocarbanilide (DNC), and not hydroxydimethylpyrimidine (HDP), has anticoccidial action against Eimeria (Eimeria). The DNC-HDP complex in the digestive tract results in the formation of significantly smaller DNC crystals than water-insoluble DNC alone, which explains the higher efficacy of the complex. In the lower parts of the digestive tract, nicarbazin decomposes into DNC and HDP, which can then be absorbed independently.

The simultaneous action of maduramicin and nicarbazin prevents the development of resistance of Eimeria to the feed additive.

The feed additive is practically not absorbed in the digestive tract of poultry and acts on Eimeria in the mucous membrane of the digestive tract; it is excreted from the body with feces; according to the degree of action on the body, it belongs to low-hazard substances (Hazard Class 4).

At the recommended doses, MANIBAZYN® does not exhibit local irritant, resorptive-toxic, or sensitizing effects.

Compatible with vitamins used in poultry farming.

Prevention and treatment of coccidiosis (eimeriosis) in broiler chickens.

0,5 kg of feed additive (equivalent to 5 g of maduramicin and 40 g of nicarbazin) per 1000 kg of feed. It is used in broiler chickens from the first day of life throughout the entire growing period and is excluded from the diet 5 days before slaughter.

To ensure uniform distribution of the feed additive in the feed, multistage mixing is used: in 10, 100, and 1000 kg of feed.

Do not use in laying hens!

Do not use with tiamulin; do not use MANIBAZYN® 7 days before and 7 days after tiamulin administration!

Do not use simultaneously with other eimeriostats!

Do not use in other animal species, especially in horses and other perissodactyls!

Slaughter of poultry for meat is permitted 5 days after the last use of the feed additive. Meat obtained before the specified period shall be disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the decision of the veterinarian.

Polyethylene bags of 50, 100, 500 g and 1 kg, and multi-layer bags of 5, 10, 20 and 25 kg.

Polymer containers of 100, 500 g and 1 kg.

Store in a dry, dark place out of reach of children at a temperature from 0 to 25 °C.
