DESCRIPTION

Powder from white to yellow color with a specific odor of its components.

COMPOSITION

Each 1 ml contains the active ingredients:
- gentamicin sulphate - 40 mg;
- ofloxacin - 100 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Gentaflox is a combination drug containing two antibiotics.

Gentamicin is an antibiotic that belongs to the group aminoglycosides. It is active against microorganisms gram-positive and gram-negative Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp, Shigella spp, Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp, against certain types of Proteus spp. and Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Staрhylococcus aureus, Serpulina hyodysenteriae, Mycoplasma spp.

The mechanism of gentamicin action consists of blocking protein synthesis in a bacterial cell.

Ofloxacin is an antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone group, it is active against microorganisms gram-negative and gram-positive and especially against Е.coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp, Proteus spp, Serratia spp, Campylobacter spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Yersinia spp, Vibrio spp, Aeromonas spp, Haemophilus spp, the following microorganisms are also sensitive to the drug. Brucella spp, Chlamydia trachomatis, Staphylococcus spp. (including strains which produce penicillinase and that are resistant to methicillin), Mycoplasma spp., Mycobacterium spp.

The mechanism of action consists of ofloxacin inhibition of bacterial DNA - gyrase (topoisomerase ІІ), with prevention process of spiraling and DNA synthesis.

INDICATIONS

Calves less than a year, pigs: treatment of animals suffering from sepsis, arthritis and in cases of diseases of the digestive system (gastritis, enteritis, peritonitis), respiratory (tonsillitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia) and the urogenital tract (nephritis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, urocystites, metritis, mastitis) of the skin (dermatitis), and in case of secondary infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin and ofloxacin.

Poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese): treatment of the poultry suffering from septicemia, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin and ofloxacin.

DOSAGE

Orally with drinking water or feed once a day for 3-5 days at the following doses dose:

Calves less than one year, pigs - 1 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;

Poultry (broilers and breeding herds) - 0.5-1.0 g per 1 liter of drinking water.

If the medicament is used with drinking water - prepare a solution at the required volume of drinking water (depending on the supply standard of drinking water for particular age category of poultry) once a day.

Prepare a fresh solution of the drug every day.

The shelf life if mixed with feed - 24-36 hours, if dissolved in water - 24 hours.

CONTRADICTIONS

Hypersensitivity to ofloxacin and gentamicin.
Do not use in animals with severe renal and hepatic function, organs of hearing and balance.
Do not use simultaneously with tetracyclines, macrolides, lincosamides, chloramphenicol, and with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Do not use simultaneously with other antibiotics - aminoglycosides or with antibiotics that share the nephrotoxic (polymyxin B, colistin, amphotericin, chloramphenicol, cephalosporin, erythromycin), as well as muscle relaxants and anesthetic drugs, of sulfanilamides, heparins, vitamins group B, diuretics (furosemide).
Do not use for horses treatment.
Do not administer to laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

PRECAUTIONS

During the mixing the drug with feed it is necessary to compulsorily use the means of personal protection (respirator, gloves).
Test the drug preliminarily in a small number of animals (7 to 8 heads). If no complication during 2 - 3 days, use the drag for the entire livestock population.
Animals may only be slaughtered for meat 7 days after the last treatment.

After first opening it should be HERMETICALLY STORED!

HOW SUPPLIED

Polythene bags or containers of 1, 10, 20 and 100 g, or 0.5, 1 and 25 kg.

STORAGE

Store at a dry place protected from light at between 5°Сand 25°С.
Keep out of reach of children.
