Pharmacological Properties
The presence of silver ions promotes regeneration of damaged tissues, destruction of old cells, and normalisation of condition during inflammatory processes. Colloidal silver acts as an effective antibacterial agent with a broad spectrum of action.
The mechanism of action of colloidal silver on viruses, fungi, bacteria, and other single-celled pathogens involves a reaction of silver with oxygen metabolism enzyme (an enzyme that provides oxygen uptake). After some time, the microorganism dies and is excreted from the body through excretory systems.
Unlike the synthesized antibiotics, which also affect useful enzymes, colloidal silver does not react with them, since they differ significantly from the enzymes of primitive single-celled organisms. Colloidal silver does not interact with other drug substances and does not form toxic compounds in the body.
Gentian violet belongs to the group of rosaniline derivatives that is related to medicinal dyes with a pronounced antiseptic action. Its antimicrobial and antifungal action against Staphylococcus spp. and Candida spp. is caused by its ability to disrupt redox reactions in the cells of microorganisms. The astringent action of gentian violet results from the effect on water-salt and tissue metabolism in damaged tissues. This leads to a decrease in hydration, blockage of the penetration of pathogenic microflora and their metabolic by-products from the zone of dead tissues to the healthy ones, restoration of microcirculatory blood flow, and as a result, to the accelerated regeneration of the damaged areas and formation of granulation tissue. In addition, gentian violet highlights the treated area.
Use
Treatment of cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks), dogs, cats and other animals with interdigital dermatitis, infectious lesions of hooves, necrobacteriosis, burns, infectious lesions of horns and hooves, as well as in cases of surgical (including after castration, ear cropping and tail docking) and traumatic wounds, panaritium, ulcers, pyoderma, eczema, scratches, bites, open abscesses of various etiology and localization, which are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to the components of the product.
Dosage
Externally. Topical use. When spraying the drug, keep the bottle upright. Before treating the animal, shake the bottle thoroughly and point the jet of the drug to the damaged area at a distance of 10 to 15 cm while pressing on the spray dispenser 2 to 3 times. Before applying, clean this area thoroughly from foreign bodies, exudate, and necrotic material. The damaged area should be treated every 12 hours until full recovery of the animal.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the constituents of the drug!
Warnings
When working with the drug, follow the basic rules of hygiene and safety, adopted when working with disinfectants.
Do not allow animals to lick off the product.
In case of emergency slaughter of the animal, the treated areas must be removed from the carcass.
Prevent contact of the drug with eyes.
