Description
Granular green-brown powder.
Composition
1 g contains active ingredients:
Monensin sodium
– 80 mg;
Nicarbazin – 80 mg.
Additive agents: amylum, calcium carbonate.
Pharmacological Properties
ATCvet QP51, antiprotozoal veterinary products (QP51АН03, monensin, QP51АН04, nicarbazin)
EYMERISAN 88 is a combined medicinal
product containing monensin sodium and nicarbazin.
The combination of active ingredients provides
effective antieimerial effect.
Monensin sodium
is polyether ionophore antibiotic. Nicarbazin is a synthetic anticoccidial
agent that includes complex of components: 4,4'- dinitrodifenil carbamide (DNC)
and 2-hydro-4,6- dimetilpirimidin (HDP) that inhibits energetic metabolism in
the parasite organism.
Monensin and nicarbazin have a wide
spectrum of anticoccidial effect, effective against eimeria (Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E.
necatrix, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. brunetty, E. mitis, E. praecox, E.
adenoides, E. мeleagrimitis, E.
gallopavonis) parasitizing poultry.
Monensin effect upon eimeria is conditioned by the ability to form
lipophilic complexes with alkali and alkali earth metal ions and to carry them
over the eimeria cell wall that leads to disturbance of osmotic balance and
death of protozoa. Nicarbazin is a synthetic complex of components: 4,4'-
dinitrodifenil carbamide (DNC) and 2-hydro-4,6- dimetilpirimidin (HDP). DNC and
not HDP has anticoccidial effect upon eimeria (Eimeria). Complex of DNC and HDP in digestive tract leads to
formation of far smaller DNC crystals in comparison with water insoluble DNC
which explains high efficiency of the complex. Nicarbazin breaks to DNC and HDP
in the minimal lower digestive tract segment which may be absorbed independently.
The concurrent effect of monensin and
nicarbazin prevents development of eimeria resistance to the product.
The product is very little absorbed in
the digestive tract of poultry and has an effect upon eimeria in the mucous
membrane of digestive tract, egested of the organism with fecal matter. It
refers to the class of low toxic substances (4th safety class) in
terms of degree of organism exposure.
It is compatible with vitamins and feed additives used in poultry farming.
Indications
Preventive
treatment of eimerioses in chicken (broilers, rearing stock to 16 weeks old)
and turkey (to 16 weeks old) caused by:
• chicken: Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. brunetti,
E. maxima, E. necatrix и E. mivati;
• turkeys: E. gallopavonis, E. maleagrimitis, E. adenoides.
Dosage
EYmerisan
88 is mixed with feed and given to poultry in a dose:
0,5-0,625 kg of the product (equivalent
to 40-50g of monensin/nicarbazin) per 1 ton of feed. The medicinal product is
administered in one-day old broilers with feed within the entire period of breeding
and is removed off the ration 5 days prior to slaughter; for turkeys and
rearing stock of chicken - from one-day old to 16-weeks old.
In order to get homogenous feed, EIMERISAN 88 is first mixed with a small quantity of feed and then mixed with the rest of feed. The equipment where the medicinal product was mixed with feed is to be thoroughly cleaned prior to preparation of other premixes or feeds.
