Description
Granules of yellow to yellowish-brown color with faint characteristic odor.
Composition
1 g of a coccidiostat contains active substance:
- maduramicin (in form of maduramicin ammonium) – 10 mg,
- nicarbazin – 80 mg.
Additives: mineral oil, corn starch.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvet QP51, antiprotozoal veterinary agents (QP51АХ10, maduramicin)
MANIBAZYN is a combination coccidiostat, which contains maduramicin and nicarbazin. Combination of active substances provides anti-Eimeria effect.
Maduramicin is eimeriostatic of wide range, effective against Eimeria Eimeria tenella, E.acervulina, E.necatrix, E.maxima, E.mivati, E. brunetti etc. Maduramicin belongs to group of polyether monocarboxylic ionophoric antibiotics, produced from a strain of Actinomadura Yumanensis.
The mechanism of coccidiost ataction is based on the selective increase of transport of monovalent cations (sodium and potassium ions) through the cell membrane of Eimeria disrupting cell turgor with following swelling of cytoplasm further destruction of Eimeria through destruction of the cell membrane. Maduramicin ammonium is practically not absorbed in gastrointestinal tract, showing its action on the mucous and submucous membranes. Excreted from the body of poultry unchanged, mainly with feces within 2-3 days.
Nicarbazin is synthetic anticoccidial coccidiostat, which is a complex of 4,4'-dinitro-diphenyl-urea (DNC) and 2-hydro-4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin (HDP), which inhibits energy metabolism in the body of parasite.
Maduramicin and nicarbazin have wide range anticoccidial effect on Eimeria of poultry (Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. brunettі). Nicarbazin is synthetic complex of 4,4'-dinitro-carbanilide (DNC) and 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin (HDP). Dinitro-carbanilide (DNC) has anticoccidial effect against Eimeria and not hydroxy-dimethyl-pyrimidin (HDP). DNC-HDP complex in gastrointestinal tract leads to formation of DNC crystals much smaller in size than one water-insoluble DNC, which explains the above efficiency of the complex. Nicarbazin in lower sections of gastrointestinal tract decomposes to DNC and HDP, which then can be absorbed independently.
Simultaneous action of maduramicin and nicarbazin prevents the coccidiostat resistance development of Eimeria.
The coccidiostat is practically not absorbed in gastrointestinal tract of poultry and acts upon Eimeria in mucous membrane of gastrointestinal tract, excreted from the body with feces; by rate of action on the body belongs to low toxicity substances (toxicity category IV).
MANIBAZYN belongs to low toxicity coccidiostat and in recommended amounts doesn’t show local irritation, toxic-resorptive or sensitizing actions. The coccidiostat is toxic to horses.
Compatible with vitamins and feed additives used in poultry.
Application
Prevention and preventive purpose of eimeriosis in chicken (broiler chickens and rearing stock of chickens)
Dosage
Orally with feed in doses of:
0.5 kg of coccidiostat (equivalent of 5 g maduramicin and 40 g of nicarbazin) per 1000 kg of feed:
- broiler chickens – from one-day age and during all their growing period and excluded from ration in 5 days before slaughtering;
- rearing stock – from one-day to 16-week age.
To provide equal distribution of the coccidiostat in feed multistage mixing is used: in 10, 100 and 1000 kg of feed.
Contraindication
Do not use for egg-laying chickens!
Do not use with tiamulin; do not use MANIBAZIN 7 days before and 7 days after use of tiamulin!
Do not use together with other eimeriostatics!
Do not use for other animal species, especially horses and other odd-toed ungulates!
Precautions
Slaughtering of poultry for meat is permitted in 5 days after the last administration of the coccidiostat . Meat obtained before the specified time period is utilized and fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of a doctor of veterinary medicine.
