- clopidol - 250,0 mg.
Pharmacological Properties
ATC vet QP 51, antiprotozoal veterinary products
Antiprotozoal veterinary product. It has anticoccidial effect on eimeria parasitizing poultry including Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. brunetti, E. mitis, E. рraecox, Е. adenoides, E. maleagrimitis и E. allopavonis.
The active agent of the product – clopidol – is referred to the pyridinol group, has its maximal anticoccidial effect at the early phases of eimeria life cycle - the phase of sporozoites and trophozoites (1-2 days). If the product is prescribed for application later than in 24 hours after invasion, its effect is significantly reduced.
Administered perorally, clopidol is very little absorbed in digestive tract and has its effect on mucous and submucous intestine membranes. Therapeutic concentration is maintained within the entire period of product use. Maximal clopidol concentration is observed in kidneys and liver. Clopidol is egested unchanged of the organism with urine and excrements.
COCCIDOL is referred to low toxic substances (4rd safety class) in terms of organism exposure.
It is compatible with vitamins and feed additives used in poultry farming.
Indications for Usе
Preventive
treatment of eimerioses in chicken (broilers, rearing stock) and turkeys caused
by:
- Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. mivati, E.
brunetti, E. mitis, E. praecox, Е. adenoides, E.
maleagrimitis и E.
gallopavonis.
Dosage
COCCIDOL product
is added in the ration and applied in a dose of 0,5 kg of the product per 1 tn
of feed (equivalent to 0,0125% of clopidol).
To broilers from the first day of life and within the
entire period of breeding, removing from the ration 5 days prior to slaughter;
- to
rearing stock of chicken and turkeys from the first day of life to 16 weeks;
In order to provide homogenous
distribution, the daily dose of the product is thoroughly mixed with a small
quantity of compound feed and then added by thorough mixing to the feed
intended for a daily standard volume. The product KOKCIDOL is applied in
accordance with the standard feeding patterns established in households. The
feed with the product shall be the only source of feeding for poultry within
the period of preventive product use.
Contradictions
Not to be used by poultry during egg production!
Not to be used by breeding poultry!
Precaution
Poultry
slaughter for meat is allowed in 5 days after the most recent product
application. The meat obtained before the period hereinabove is to be recycled
or fed to non-productive animals on the basis of veterinary physician’s
opinion.
The personnel working with the product is to observe
the basic rules of safety and hygiene established for operations with
veterinary products.
All the works
with COCCIDOL product are to be performed using special protective clothes and
individual protective equipment (rubber gloves, protective glasses, respirator
and protective mask). Smoking, eating and drinking within operations are
prohibited. Upon works completion face
and hands are to be thoroughly washed with soap, mouth is to be rinsed with
water.
People with hypersensitivity to clopidol are to avoid
direct contact with the agent. In case of accidental product contact with skin
or mucous membranes, it is to be immediately washed with soap under flowing
water. In case of allergic reactions and/or accidental product ingestion by a
human, one is to promptly consult medical institution (one shall have the label
and package insert in possession).
Primary Packing
The polyethylene
film packages of 50, 100, 500 g, 1 kg and bags of 5, 10, 20 and 25 kg.
Polymer containers of 100, 500 g and 1 kg.
Storage
The
product is stored in factory package in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 0
to 25 ° С out of reach of children.
